7 Reasons to Celebrate Your Favorite Teacher

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) instituted World Teacher Day on October 5. However, many countries observe Teacher Day celebrations independently. In America, students celebrate  Teacher Appreciation Week  in the first full week of May. In that week, Teacher Appreciation Day is celebrated on Tuesday. How You Can Celebrate Teacher Day On Teachers Day, students express their gratitude and  appreciation  to their teachers. Many educational institutes commemorate Teacher Day with elaborate entertainment activities that include short plays,  dance,  and music. Parent volunteers and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) members often host a small celebration party for the teachers. As a student, you can put up banners, and posters with  a thank you note  scribbled on them. Express your appreciation through  thank you cards. 7 Reasons to Appreciate Teachers A Teachers Influence Lasts Forever: In the words of William Butler Yeats, Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire. We must credit our teachers who ignite the fire of learning in the mind that is yearning for knowledge. Someone once said, Teachers dont impact for a year, but for a lifetime. A teacher can make a lasting impression on your mind. This influence persists beyond school, college, and university, and becomes the beacon of light, guiding us through the journey of life. Good teachers play the role of a parent, providing encouragement, inspiration, and invaluable guidance.Teaching Is Not Easy: Not everyone can be a teacher. Sure, you can pursue teaching programs to gain the necessary certification to be a teacher. But a good teacher has to have certain qualities to be an icon of inspiration. Great teachers are those who can extract the nectar of goodness from young aspirants. They can fish out the hidden qualities of every student. With words of inspir ation, persistent training, and rigid discipline, they steer the students in the right direction. Great teachers teach the student to believe that nothing is impossible.Teachers Impact Many Generations:  Everyone has a favorite teacher. You may love this special teacher for her charisma, enthusiasm, or knowledge. Often, your best memories of childhood revolve around a great teacher, who inspired and changed your life. Their words  or actions linger in your memory decades after you leave school. Subconsciously, you emulate them as you pass on your knowledge to the next generation. Thus, a great teachers influence can last for many generations.Teaching Self-Reliance: By setting the right example, a teacher can impress the importance of self-reliance, instead of expecting help from others. This can teach students to build on their strengths and be responsible for their successes and failures. Students can learn to push their limits.Teachers Teach You to Seek Knowledge:  You may h ave come across some teachers who instilled value education in you. This kind of education can mold a human being for life. Teachers bear an enormous responsibility of passing on their wisdom and knowledge. Italian astronomer and mathematician Galileo expressed, You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him discover it in himself. Good teachers help in enabling this discovery. They open new avenues  and encourage students to explore and achieve their true potential. The Best Teachers:  Recollect the good qualities of your favorite teachers. You may notice some common qualities. They motivated you to work harder, and take bigger initiatives. They are passionate about their subject and enjoyed teaching. Good teachers understand the importance of nurturing the love and thirst for knowledge. Some nuggets of their valuable advice remain with you forever. Their insight broadens your horizons and enables you to expand your knowledge.Teachers as Entertainers: Good teaching invol ves good delivery. African-American scholar and teacher John Henrik Clarke rightly said, A good teacher, like a good entertainer, first must hold his audiences attention; then he can teach his lesson. It is not enough to simply know your subject. To initiate learning, teachers have to make the classroom experience enriching. Appreciate Your Teachers Efforts With Gratitude Use this opportunity to get to know your teachers better. Share your thoughts and ideas and learn what inspires them. Make beautiful Teacher Day cards with  Happy Teacher Day quotes to express your admiration. One beautiful Teachers Day quote by Albert Einstein goes, It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. Every Day Is Teacher Day Why wait for  Teacher Day to come around? You dont need a special occasion to express your affection towards your teacher. Make each day of your teachers life special with thoughtful words and deeds. A first-grade teacher is pleased as punch whenever she gets a hand-made card from one of her students. Overlooking the spelling mistakes and scrawny handwriting, she says that it is the thought that counts. Your Success Is Your Teachers Success A teacher considers herself successful when her students achieve success in their respective careers. For her, the only reward is your advancement. On Teachers Day, pay a visit to your alma mater, and meet the teachers who molded you. You will be surprised to find that they remember you, even though many years have rolled by. Your visit might bring tears of joy to their eyes. Express your appreciation by writing a personalized message. It is the best gift you could ever give your teachers.

Sports Coverage And Its Effect On Women s Sports - 863 Words

Despite the prevalence of the gender binary in our everyday lives, it is reinforced even further by the sports media that acts as a strong social influence. Additionally, sports media depicts gender inequality by creating a discriminatory system that favors men’s sports and regards women’s sports as a â€Å"second rate investment.† Lack of funding and lack of coverage have seemingly created a self-fulfilling prophecy for the future of women’s sports. Quantitative evidence from research completed by the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles includes a six-week analysis where 264 minutes of sports coverage contained a mere 12 minutes worth of women’s sports coverage as opposed to the 244 minutes of men’s broadcast. Furthermore, the women’s sports coverage tended to be during the ending of the broadcast and female athletes received the lead coverage twice as opposed to the 40 times a male athlete was displayed. (Duncan, Messner, Will iams, Jensen) This data, although surprising, is not shocking. The lack of exposure is a product of the relationship between viewer ratings and TV network investment. Men’s sports traditionally generate the majority of revenue and garner the higher ratings among sports media thus making it more likely for sponsors and investment into men’s sports coverage. The large impact of men’s sports is directly correlated with the higher production qualities and exorbitant media coverage. Vapour Absorbtion Refrigeration free essay sample

The vapour absorption system uses heat energy, instead of mechanical energy as in vapour compression system, in order to change the condition of the refrigerant required for the operation of the refrigeration cycle. In this system, the compressor is replaced by an absorber, a pump, a generator, and a pressure reducing valve. This complete papers discuss about the theoretical calculations are made of different components of the systems like evaporator, absorber, condenser and pump of vapour absorption system for a capacity of 0. 5TR and experimentally developed and run system to validated for reducing the temperature for the free of cost of operation. Keywords: Absorption, absorber, NH3, VAR, VCR. I. INTRODUCTION In the vapour absorption refrigeration (VAR) system, a physicochemical process replaces the mechanical pro-cess of the vapour compression refrigeration (VCR) sys-tem by using energy in the form of heat rather than mechanical work. The main advantage of this system lies in the possibility of utilizing waste heat energy from industrial plants or other sources and solar energy as the energy input. The VAR systems have many favourable characteristics. Typically a much smaller electrical input is required to drive the solution pump, compared to the power requirements of the compressor in the VCR systems, also, fewer moving parts means lower noise levels, higher reliability, and improved durability in the VAR systems [1–5]. A Robur Servel ACD-3600 gas-? red system was originally obtained for a study of the suitability of VAR systems of road transport refrigeration. However, an early approach to the manufacturer for comprehensive details of the system characteristics received a negative response. It was therefore decided to conduct a detailed experimental analysis of the system. This work forms the basis of this paper. A vapour absorption refrigeration system is a heat operated unit which uses refrigerant (NH3) that is alternately absorbed by and liberated from the absorbent (water). These components in the system perform the same function as that of compressor in vapour compression system. The vapour refrigerant from evaporator is drawn into an absorber where it is absorbed by the weak solution of refrigerant forming a strong solution. This strong solution is pumped to the generator where it is heated by utilizing solar energy. During the heating process, the vapour refrigerant is driven off by the solution and enters into the condenser where it is liquefied. The liquid refrigerant then flows into the evaporator and thus the cycle is completed. The papers discuss about the complete theoretical calculations and design the system as per the theoretical calculations and experimentally validate the system with reducing the temperature. II. METHODOLOGY Fig. 1 shows the schematic diagram of a vapour absorption system. Ammonia vapour is produced in the generator at high pressure from the strong solution of NH3 by an external heating source. A solar cooker will produce the heat and generate ammonia gas. Ammonia gas then enters into the condenser. High pressure NH3 vapour is condensed in the condenser. The cooled NH3 solution is passed Vidyavardhini’s College of Engineering and Technology, Vasai Page 128 International Journal of Engineering Research and Applications (IJERA) ISSN: 2248-9622 National Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering Technology (VNCET-30 Mar’12) through a throttle valve and the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant are reduced below the temperature to be maintained in the evaporator. The low temperature refrigerant enters the evaporator and absorbs the required heat from the evaporator and leaves the evaporator as saturated vapour. This caused the hot vapour from the generator to enter the evaporator coil without changing its phase completely and thus reduced the cooling effect. The system couldn’t sustain desired pressure range. The pressure capacity of the flexible hoses used in the system limited the system pressure and thus the design pressure could not be achieved due to fear of failure. Concentration of ammonia in the system design was for 50% concentration of ammonia but in the ammonia commercially available is of 25% concentration. This was also a limitation. IV. Macbeth And Supernatural Essays - Characters In Macbeth, Macbeth

Macbeth And Supernatural In the play "Macbeth," there were many interesting sections which could be concentrated on due to the suspense and the involvement of the supernatural. The use of the supernatural in the witches, the visions, the ghost, and the apparitions is a key element in making the concept of the play work and in making the play interesting. Looking through each Act and Scene of the play, it is noticed that the supernatural is definitely a major factor on the play's style. The use of the supernatural occurs at the beginning of the play, with three witches predicting the fate of Macbeth. This gives the audience a clue to what the future holds for Macbeth. "When the battles lost and won" (Act I, Scene I, l.4) was said by the second witch. It says that every battle is lost by one side and won by another. Macbeth's fate is that he will win the battle, but will lose his time of victory for the battle of his soul. After the prophecies of the witches' revealed the fate of Macbeth, the plan in which to gain power of the throne is brought up. The only way to gain power of the throne was for Macbeth to work his way to the throne, or to murder King Duncan. Murdering the king was an easier plan since the motivation in his dreams urged him on. Lady Macbeth also relied on the supernatural by her soliloquy of calling upon the evil spirits to give her the power to plot the murder of Duncan without any remorse or conscience (Act I, Scene V, ll.42-57). The three sisters are capable of leading people into danger resulting in death, such as the sailor who never slept (Act I, Scene III, ll.1-37). Lady Macbeth has convinced her husband Macbeth to murder King Duncan. On the night they planned to kill Duncan, Macbeth is waiting for Lady Macbeth to ring the signal bell to go up the stairs to Duncan's chamber. He sees the vision of the floating dagger. The interest of the dagger is that it leads Macbeth towards the chamber by the presence of evil of the dagger being covered with blood. Then the bell rings and Macbeth stealthily proceeds up the staircase to Duncan's chamber. Once the murder has been committed, eventually Banquo has his suspicions about Macbeth killing Duncan to have power of the throne. There is constantly more guilt and fear inside Macbeth and his wife that they decide to have Banquo killed. Macbeth and his wife attend a banquet in which a ghost appears. Once the murderer notified Macbeth that the deed was done, he observed the ghost of Banquo sitting in his regular seat. This caused Macbeth to act in a wild manner, making people suspicious of his actions. (Act III, Scene VI, ll.31-120). The use of the supernatural has increased the suspense now that Macbeth is constantly relying on the prophecies of the three witches. Hecate, the Queen of witches is angry with the three sisters for not involving her in their encounters with Macbeth. The witches plan to lead Macbeth to his downfall by making him feel over-confident. (Act III, Scene V, ll.1-35). Further on in the play, Macbeth finds his way to the witches' cave and demands to know what lies ahead for him. The three witches predict what he is going to ask and produce the first apparition which is an armed head. "Macbeth!, Macbeth!, Macbeth!, beware of Macduff; beware thane of Fife. Dismiss me: enough." (Act VI, Scene I, ll.77-78). The first apparition tells Macbeth to beware of Macduff. Then the second apparition appears (a bloody child), and says: "Be bloody, bold, and resolute; laugh to scorn the power of man, for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth." (Act IV, Scene I, ll.85-87). This apparition informs Macbeth that no man born from a woman can harm him. finally, the last apparition appears and is a child crowned, with a tree in his hand. The apparition is saying that he will never be defeated until Great Birnam wood shall come against him to High Dunsinane Hill. "Be lion melted, proud, and take no care who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are: Macbeth shall never vanquish'd be until Great Birnam wood to High Dunsinane Hill shall come against him." (Act VI, Scene I, ll.98-102). These apparitions convinced Macbeth that this was his fate and became over confident, and lead him to his death. The use of the supernatural in Macbeth results quite
